Essential 4th of July Heavy Metal Songs

by Mike Lawrence on July 2, 2013

The 4th of July in the United States is the most important holiday of the year.  It is the day in 1776 that we declared our independence from England.  Today it is celebrated with fireworks, barbecues and partying.  Nothing says freedom and partying better than heavy metal. Therefor we decided to create a list of the essential 4th of July heavy metal songs to crank at your barbecues and while you’re sitting waiting for the fireworks displays to start.  The songs we chose deal with patriotism, freedom, liberty, natural rights and the American way. Have a happy, safe and extremely metal Independence Day!

Yngwie Malmsteen – “The Star Spangled Banner”

Soundgarden – “4th of July”

Iced Earth – “Declaration Day”

Metallica – “…And Justice For All”

Rage Against the Machine – “Freedom”

Megadeth – “Peace Sells”

Manowar – “Fight for Freedom”

Metallica – “Don’t Tread On Me”

Kid Rock – “American Bad Ass”

All That Remains – “Sing For Liberty”

Diecast – “Remember the Fallen”

Megadeth – “We The People”

Pantera – “Revolution Is My Name”

Oh c’mon. The Megadeth song needs to be “Hook in Mouth” the chorus alone warrants that.

The …And Justice For All songs are NOT good for the Fourth. They are about corrupt governments and the death of the American dream. Neither is Peace Sells.
